GOT QUESTIONS? LET’S ANSWER THEM.
Yes, full-time of part-time study is available. Three or four courses (subjects) a trimester is considered full-time, while part-time can be one or two courses at a time.
You may adjust your load from trimester to trimester depending on your circumstances, but remember that your study load impacts how quickly you will complete your diploma, your study plan, and your transition to Griffith University.
You should plan to spend approximately 10 hours per course per week, including workshop time. This is a realistic estimate based on student feedback and the volume of readings, activities, and assessments required to stay on track.
Most students will complete three courses per trimester (so 30 hours), but you can do up to four and as little as one.
Everything we do is about helping students get into and prepared for their university studies. Rest assured we are here to help you succeed. Here is just some of the support we offer:
- extra subjects to help with Maths or academic skills
- smaller classes
- consultations available with staff
- academic and study skills Workshops
- activities to help make friends and connections
When you apply you will select both your diploma and the bachelor you want to progress into. You will receive one offer that covers both programs and includes anything you need to know or conditions related to your progression.
Once you graduate from the degree, Griffith University will be in touch with information to enrol in your bachelor. We also host information sessions to help with your transition across.
We encourage students to connect with the support services available. It can significantly reduce stress and anxiety.
Reaching out for academic or personal support isn’t a sign of struggle, it’s a smart strategy that can boost your
confidence, reduce stress, and help you thrive.
You will have access to expert teaching staff, dedicated support services, and a connected community. Reach out, stay engaged, and build routines that support your wellbeing.
In most cases your study can be completed in two trimesters (or 8 months). Programs that require an extra maths subject to help you understand future course content can be completed in three trimesters (12 months).
The duration of your studies will depend on the course load you wish to take. As an example to complete eight courses you can choose to study four courses each trimester for two trimesters. Or you could choose to study three in the first two and two in your third trimester, this is still considered a full time course load, so it’s just based on your preference or it may be determined by when you want to start your bachelor.
If you want to study part time, that is fine too!
Your diploma will give you predetermined credit to your chosen degree. If you are gaining 80 credit points, this is the equivalent of one year of the degree. We can help you with more information on what your specific pathway will look like.
Most of our programs are designed for face to face learning and require you to join classes on campus.
Some diploma programs are available online. Unlike other fully self-paced online programs, you will attend scheduled live online workshops that connect you to your lecturers and peers, while still participating in, scheduled, live online workshops that connect you with your lecturers and peers.
