Our History
In 1997, Griffith College opened its doors on the Mount Gravatt (Brisbane) campus of Griffith University, to 98 students who were enrolled across 4 diplomas (Commerce, Hotel Management, IT and Design) and a tertiary preparation program. Since then, 8 more diplomas, an associate degree in Commerce and Business, and a non-award foundation and masters qualifying programs have been added to the suite of study options offered by the College. Due to the expansion of these programs, Griffith College opened a second site, on the University’s Southport (Gold Coast) campus.
All programs at Griffith College are delivered with our Flexible Learning approach (classes on-campus and online*), within the College’s two purpose-built buildings. As a Griffith University partner, we share campus services such as the library, computer labs, outlets, fitness and clubs, as well as specialist facilities such as simulated nursing wards, science laboratories, art studios, and a range of support services.
*Students can attend classes either in person on campus or zoom in, however we do not offer self-paced online study.
