HOW LONG DOES THE DIPLOMA TAKE?

Most diplomas can be completed in two trimesters or eight months, however some will take three trimesters or 12 months.

The duration of your study at Griffith College will depend on a few factors, including if you need to complete our Foundation program, your English language level and when you can progress into your chosen degree. The duration on your letter of offer will take these things into consideration.

WHAT ENGLISH LEVEL DO I NEED?

Each program has unique English language requirements. Please check the entry requirements. In most cases we can accept a range of English tests, and if required we can package with Griffith English Language Institute.

CAN I WORK WHILE I STUDY IN AUSTRALIA?

Casual or part-time work is a great way to earn some money while studying. It’s also a way to gain work experience that looks great on your curriculum vitae (CV). Future employers are looking for potential employees with a range of skills that can be demonstrated by balancing both study and work commitments.

There are strict working restrictions on your student visa, so make sure you are following all the guidelines. It’s also important to remember that study is your priority while you are on a student visa.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO BUDGET?

Queensland is a popular choice as a study location, offering a safe, friendly environment and high living standards.

It is important for students to be aware of the cost of living and prepare a budget carefully, prior to arrival. Being attentive to your budget will help you in making your money go further throughout your studies.

According to the Department of Home Affairs, approximately $29,710 AUD per year would be the minimum amount that a student will need for living expenses ontop of their study expenses (10 May 2024).

HOW DOES THE DIPLOMA WORK?

Our university-designed, one-year diplomas are structured to provide the same amount of credit points as a first-year degree at Griffith University.

A three-year degree requires students to earn 240 credit points. Our diplomas are worth up to 80 credit points towards this total. That means most Griffith College students can progress directly to the second year of their degree at Griffith University.
