Located within the cutting-edge Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct—alongside Gold Coast University Hospital—our world-class Gold Coast campus is home to 21,000 students. As our largest campus, teaching and research span almost all study areas.
Centrally based and just minutes from world-famous beaches, you’ll be able to enjoy a vibrant, enviable student lifestyle, with more than 80 student clubs to explore as well as a variety of sporting and fitness amenities, on-campus services, retail outlets, and cafes and restaurants.
Our Gold Coast Library includes indoor and outdoor study spaces, seminar rooms, a Sky Lounge, computers, printing facilities and group study spaces that can be booked as needed. Students have exclusive access to Griffith College computer labs at Mt Gravatt and Gold Coast campuses.
Grab a snack or curb your caffeine cravings at one of our nine outlets. Additionally, there are several shops on-campus available to visit, including a bookshop, computer store, hair salon, post office, travel agent and Uni Store.
Griffith University Village provides a range of student accommodation options - all on-campus, just a short walk to class.
There are also a range of off-campus accommodation options.
The Gold Coast campus offers beach volleyball, indoor soccer, basketball and tennis facilities as well as a gym and fitness centre, plus an Olympic-standard athletics track. Sport, recreation and student clubs at the Gold Coast are managed by the Griffith University Gold Coast Student Guild.
Our $150 million Griffith Health Centre (Ian O'Connor building) offers a range of hands-on learning experiences and provides researchers with access to the latest health and medical technologies.
Our $38 million business building includes a simulated trading room as part of a specialised teaching space for banking, finance and financial planning students.
You can get to our Gold Coast campus in a variety of ways.
Centrally located north-west of Surfers Paradise, the campus is easily accessible by car, bus and tram. You can also walk or cycle here, with end-of-trip facilities including bike racks and showers available. The closest airport is at Coolangatta, which is a 40-minute drive south of the campus.
The intercampus bus between Nathan and Gold Coast campuses operates during trimester only (including examination periods) from Monday to Friday. Tickets are $5 for students.
Public transport is managed by TransLink. The cheapest and easiest way to use light rail, bus and train services is to use a ‘Go Card’ – a rechargeable travel card that provides discounted fares.
Connected by light rail to the famous golden beaches of Surfers Paradise, it is easy to get to campus as well as enjoy some well-earned down-time. Visit the Translink journey planner to plan your trip.
Griffith campuses are Regulated Parking Areas (Griffith University Act 1998) and parking must be paid for. You can find out more about parking permits and casual parking here.
Your home campus will depend on your study program (i.e. some programs are only offered at one campus).
