Program Delivery

Your study week will follow a clear and consistent structure based around a weekly, live workshop per course. Online study is only available for domestic students.

Before your workshops:

  •  Watch short recorded mini-lectures (30–40 minutes each)
  • Complete assigned readings and online activities
  • Attempt ungraded quizzes to check your understanding

Participate

Join live workshops:

  • Join your live 1–2 hour workshop via Microsoft Teams
  • Participate in discussions, group activities, and Q&A sessions
  • Workshops are scheduled at the same time each week and recorded for later review

Reflect and Retain

After your workshops:

  • Revisit the lecture content and workshop recording
  • Work through additional activities and consolidate your notes
  • Continue with assessments and project work

Online study with Griffith College combines the independence of learning anywhere in Australia with the reassurance of dedicated academic and wellbeing support. You will have access to the same resources and services as on-campus students, plus the flexibility to fit study into your life.

Study full-time or part-time

You should plan to spend approximately 10 hours per course per week, including workshop time.
Three or four courses a trimester is considered full-time (30 or 40 hours per week), while part-time can be one or two courses at a time.

If you need additional English or Maths qualifications to be eligible for a teaching degree, this diploma is perfect for you. Rather than needing to complete extra study, including bridging and enabling subjects, you can meet the requirements while studying this one-year diploma.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to complete the diploma program?

To complete the program, you must successfully complete eight courses. The duration of your studies depends on the academic load you choose:

  • A full load of four courses per trimester allows you to complete the diploma in two trimesters.
  • Alternatively, you may complete three courses in the first two trimesters and two in the final trimester, completing the program over three trimesters.
  • The minimum enrolment is one course per trimester.

Do I need an ATAR or study history?

Our diplomas are ATAR-free entry, making them accessible for a wide range of students.

What do I need to do to start?

To apply, complete a free application via StudyLink.

  • To commence your studies, you will need a functional laptop and a stable internet connection. Your laptop must have a working camera and microphone for attending workshops and participating in presentations.

How do I progress into Griffith University?

  • When you apply for the diploma you also indicate your choice of bachelor and your campus of choice for the bachelor.
  • You will receive one packaged offer for both programs.
  • Once you graduate from the degree, Griffith University will be in touch with information to enrol in your bachelor courses.
  • We also host information sessions to help with your transition across.

How much time do I need to commit for my studies each week?
