Orientation week is your introduction to campus life!

Your welcome to Griffith College

Orientation week is your fun, friendly introduction to study and campus life. Your orientation day is a chance to make new friends, get a feel for our campuses (including the digital campus) and ask any questions you might have.

Your Orientation Program will be held over a number of days in the week just prior to the commencement of academic classes. We will host a series of activities and presentations during the week to help you transition smoothly into your study program.

Students will be notified of the dates of their Orientation Program during the Admissions process (dates are also available to view on our Key Dates page). 

Registration is essential, so make sure to keep an eye on your email inbox for your invitation and a link to reserve your spot.

What to expect

During orientation you will:

  • Enjoy a morning tea, lunch and a fun day of activities and entertainment!
  • Make new friends
  • Meet the support team and staff
  • Find out important information about your program
  • Learn to use the student digital campus
  • Obtain your student ID card
  • Take a campus tour and learn about our services and facilities
  • Get help with enrolment and timetable if required

You can expect presentations and information covering:

  • In-depth program and course information (progression requirements, articulation options and transition procedures, key dates, key staff)
  • Introduction to learning at Griffith College
  • A walk-through of the Digital Campus and Moodle Course sites;
  • An introduction to the policy and procedures that govern students’ academic programs and membership of the College community;
  • Enrolment assistance;
  • Academic and welfare support services and key staff;
  • Information on campus and general security, health, safety and welfare guidance and expectations;
  • Receiving your student ID card;
  • Social events;
  • An introduction to Griffith College Mates and;
  • Services and facilities available to you as a student

When is Orientation Week?

Do I have to attend Orientation?

Yes, it is extremely important that you attend orientation as you will hear critical information about your studies. Students who don't attend may be significantly disadvantaged. Students who arrive late have less chance of selecting classes in courses that they wish to take during the trimester.

What do I need to do before Orientation?

Visit Get Ready for Study on the Digital Campus to:

  • Request a student ID card
  • Select your timetable
  • Set up your email 
  • Set up your S number so you can access the Wi-Fi
