Joining a sports club, social club or society is the perfect way to make meaningful campus connections.

Whether you want to continue following a passion you’ve had for ages, or you want to try something completely new, everyone’s welcome. Over the years, students have added to the list of Griffith College clubs and societies, by starting up teams and groups for all sorts of special interests. It might be something creative, cultural or physically challenging. Explore your options here!

Our students, staff and local communities have the chance to use our world-class sporting and fitness facilities, as well as join our social teams and sports clubs. We also have a wide range of sporting events and competitions you can get involved in as a student, whether you’re looking to compete for fun or represent the university.

Joining a sports club is a great way to meet people who share your interests and make friends in the Griffith community. Griffith sports clubs cater for all types of players and levels of experience, offering you the chance to play sport purely recreationally as well as in regular social competitions. Clubs are open to everyone – you don’t need to be a Griffith student to sign up.

From AFL to Lacrosse, Griffith sports clubs cater for all types of players and levels of experience. Play recreationally or challenge yourself to social competitions.

Pick your sport

AFC Club

Partnership with Mt Gravatt AFC. Men and women’s team compete in the QAFL competition and also enter under Griffith University for the Division 1 Nationals.

Badminton Club

Club players are a mix of ages and skills; from beginners to competitive levels. Weekly training and also men’s and women’s teams enter in external tournaments and also enter teams for the Division 2 Nationals.

Baseball Club

The Baseball team trains weekly and enters multiple teams in the QUBL. The Baseball Club also enter a team into the Division 1 Nationals.

Basketball Club

Men’s, Women’s and Mixed team trains weekly on-campus and enter teams into the on-campus social sport competition. Club also enters external competitions and tournaments as well as a team into the Nationals.

Gridiron Club

Men’s and women’s teams train weekly and enter the Gridiron Queensland competition. The club also enters teams into the Griffith Social Sport flag competition.

Hockey Club

Partnership with South Brisbane Eagles Hockey Club. Men and Women’s Outdoor and Indoor Field Hockey.

Nathan Rugby League Club

The Griffith Dragons RLC have a men’s team who are based on the Nathan campus, training weekly and competing in the URLQ competition.

Soccer Club

Partnership with the Mt Gravatt Hawks FC. The club trains weekly and enters multiple Men’s and Women’s team into various QLD leagues and also enters teams under Griffith University into the division 2 Nationals.

Taekwondo Club

The Taekwondo Club train weekly on-campus and enter teams into external tournaments. The club enters teams into UniSport Nationals.

Table Tennis Club

The Table Tennis Club train weekly on-campus and enter teams into external tournaments. The club enters Men’s and Women’s teams into the Nationals.

Touch Football Club

The Touch Club enter Men’s, Women’s and Mixed teams into the Whites Hill competition, as well as the on-campus social sport competition. The club also compete in various tournaments throughout the year as well as Nationals.

Volleyball club

The Volleyball club enter Men’s, and Women’s teams into the Metro League. The club also plays in various tournaments throughout the year and send a Men & Women’s team to Division 2 Nationals.
